Free Local Expert Energy Advice Service
We provide a free , professional energy advice service to households throughout Perth and Kinross to help them become more energy efficient and reduce their energy bills.

The Heat Project is a community-based initiative and part of Blairgowrie and Rattray Development Trust. We are funded by Ofgem’s Energy Redress Scheme to provide a free, professional energy advice service to households throughout Perth and Kinross. We have helped over 3000 households in Perth and Kinross save an average of 15-20 percent on their energy bills and become more energy efficient at the same time.
Encouraging and supporting individual households
We provide tailored advice for households with high energy consumption such as off-gas-grid, older, exposed, and hard-to-treat properties, helping them to reduce energy consumption and improve energy efficiency, and on the installation of small-scale renewables, in order to improve long-term energy security.
Tackle fuel poverty and reduce energy debt
Provide advice to vulnerable households in remote/rural areas and in urban conurbations We helped about 132 households to pay off over £73,092 of energy debt through The Scottish HOME HEATING SUPPORT FUND during the energy price crisis and cost of living crisis.
Help improve the delivery of Scottish Government targets on climate change

It’s engagement with the local communities to research and review initiatives also helps towards reducing the carbon footprint and increasing environmental sustainability.

The North East Home Energy Scotland advice centre fully supports The HEAT Project and strongly believes that the aims of the project are both worthwhile and achievable.

The HEAT Project has supplied a great deal of information along with support for the general public to use as a reference for “best practice” guide to insulate the property with any grants or loans which may be available at the time.
